If you’re curious but not yet ready to commit to a full certification course, Discover Scuba Diving offers a chance to dip your toes into the world of scuba to see if it suits you. The minimum age for Discover Scuba is 10 years, with no upper age limit. Before diving, all participants must complete a medical questionnaire.

During the Discover Scuba Diving experience, though not a formal certification, you’ll receive a hands-on introduction to using scuba equipment in shallow water. Under the direct guidance of a PADI Professional, you’ll learn the basics needed to explore the underwater environment. This includes discovering the sensation of breathing underwater and gaining comfort in the aquatic realm. Basic skills and safety rules learned during the experience will lay a foundation for future scuba certification courses.

The experience typically involves two dives supervised closely by a PADI professional. Dive times can be arranged to accommodate individual schedules, with a typical schedule including a first dive at 10:00, a second at 12:00, and completion of the course by 13:00. A briefing before the dives covers equipment usage, basic skills, and underwater communication for a safe and enjoyable experience. Dives are conducted from the shore at the Kalkan Dive Centre at the Kalamar Beach Club, each lasting around 20 minutes, with a maximum depth of 12 meters.
